ESG Training for LafargeHolcim Employees

 

Project Description:

 

LafargeHolcim is a global manufacturer of cement, concrete, and other construction materials and integrated solutions for construction in more than 80 countries. The company is in the process of green transition. Today, it is actively taking sustainable measures in its production.

 

Experts from the HPBS company conducted a series of training seminars on the topic “Green Building. Functional fundamentals of design, management, and certification of industrial and civil construction objects” for employees and partners of the LafargeHolcim company.

 

Our Role:

 

During the training, the following topics were covered:

 

  • basic concepts of sustainable development, terms, and definitions;
  • types of building environmental impact assessment;
  • main building environmental certification systems;
  • management of design, construction, and operation of buildings with a reduced carbon footprint;
  • the contribution of construction materials to the overall building sustainability rating and methods of its assessment;
  • global practice of environmental reporting by companies and the main consumer benefits of the developer or manager of a building certified by an environmental standard;
  • examples of implementing environmental certification in the region.

 

The training process was divided into 8 following blocks:

  2. Greenhouse gases
  3. The environment
  4. Green infrastructure
  5. The necessity of international building certification
  6. Green mortgage
  7. Requirements and criteria of ESG factors
  8. Cases based on HPBS company practice

 

Key Achievements

 

As a result, the client experienced positive benefits for the business. Its employees started to think within the company’s business processes from the perspective of sustainable business development. This training also aligned with the sustainable business development principles of the company’s headquarters in Switzerland.
